About
A finding aid. Not a newspaper.
Watch24 lists news websites by country and territory, and puts a desk on each page that points at what the wires are carrying this hour. We do not write the news. We do not own the stories. Clicking a headline takes you to the publisher who does.
What this is
A switchboard. The useful part is the local list: papers, agencies, and broadcasters that still publish from that place. The line under each name is only a tag — newspaper, news agency, public broadcaster — so you can see what kind of door you are opening. It is not a score of virtue or accuracy.
What this is not
We do not take a political line. We do not settle what a country should be called. Where a place is known by two names, we list both and keep one desk. Myanmar is also referred to as Burma; both words open the same page. We do not run two desks to flatter two camps.
Some desks are thin. Some territories have almost no press. We say so, and we do not invent a newspaper to fill the hole.
The desk
Headlines are pulled from public feeds, cached about an hour, and shown with their source. The search is the name of the place. A few names collide with towns and states (Georgia, Angola). Those searches are pinned to the country. If a town in Indiana is still pretending to be Luanda, tell us.
Money and privacy
There are no ads on the pages today. Analytics tells us whether anyone is reading. We do not sell a subscriber list. Details: Privacy. Questions: Contact.
Corrections
Wrong link, wrong globe, missing paper, or a name we should list: use Contact and choose Website. We would rather fix the switchboard than argue about it.
