How to read the Australia desk
English is the language of the Australian press. ABC and SBS are the public doors. The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian, the AFR, and the Nine and News Corp sites sit beside them. They do not share an owner. That is the point of listing more than one.
This list is national. State papers exist — Perth, Adelaide, Hobart — and are not all here. If a story is only in the West Australian, you may miss it.
Name collisions with Austria are a real wire problem on other desks. This page is Australia. The public broadcaster is ABC, not the BBC.
Open ABC and one paper that is not the same company.
