How to read the Gaza desk
This is a thin desk, and the war made it thinner. Arabic is the language of whatever can still publish. English on Gaza is almost entirely other people's war: Israeli, Egyptian, Qatari, American, European. That coverage is real. It is not a Gaza newsroom.
Know which door you opened. WAFA is the official Palestinian agency. It is not a Gaza city paper. Al-Quds is a Palestinian daily. Shehab and the Palestinian Information Center sit closer to the political line in Gaza. We name the door so you can see it. We do not score it.
We do not settle status, borders, or the war on this page. If a story exists only in Arabic, that is the desk. If the only Gaza you see is a wire filed from somewhere else, you are not using this page.
