How to read the Mexico desk
Spanish is the language of the Mexican press. English is a foreign desk. Reforma, El Universal, Excélsior, and Milenio are the doors on this list. They are not the government, and they are not interchangeable.
This is the United Mexican States, not New Mexico, and not a US city named Mexico. We pin the wires to the country. If a New Mexico item leaks, that is a leak.
The national list is Mexico City weather. Monterrey, Guadalajara, and the border have press we have not fully listed. Cartel violence will dominate English. It is real. It is not the whole desk.
Open two Spanish doors before you take a Houston rewrite.
