How to read the France desk
French is the language of the Paris press. If you cannot read it, you are reading a foreign desk about France.
AFP is the wire. Franceinfo is the public news door. Le Monde, Le Figaro, and Libération are not the same newspaper, and you can smell the difference from the headline. Mediapart is an investigative desk. Le Parisien and Ouest-France are popular papers. BFMTV is a broadcaster. L'Express is a magazine. We tag the kind of door. We do not pick a side.
This list is national. Overseas France has its own pages. A story that lives only in Nouméa or Fort-de-France will not be here.
Open two papers that do not share a habit. We do not settle the French argument.
